Also note, should you decide to delve into this series, trauma causes the brain to remain in a state of hyper-vigilance. It can cause one to suppress memory and impulse controls, trapped in a constant state of intense emotional reactivity.  This series deals heavily with characters navigating life and relationships through and after trauma.
